President's Message
October saw the AGM of Gosford City Chamber of Commerce at the Gosford Golf & Function Centre. We have had some changes on the Board. Long standing directors Ron Hincksman and Deborah Warwick did not stand for re-election due to other commitments. Directors David Bowler and Donna Lalor also chose not to stand due to family and work commitments. We thank these four directors for the valuable contribution they made to the Chamber during their time on the Board and wish them continued success. We are pleased to welcome new faces to the Board with the appointment of Paul Wrigley, Central Coast Radio, Carla Northam of Family Day Care Austrlalia and Julius Huszarek of Central Coast EuroCars/Gosford City Suzuki. Each of the new directors bring new skills to the Board and we look forward to the contribution they will make. Directors returning to the Board are Ali Vidler and David Humphries as Vice Presidents, Susan Drew as Treasurer, Petrina March and Ron Sharpe as Directors. I am humbled and proud to be returned as your President for another 12 months. As we hurtle towards Christmas at a rapid pace I think it is timely to consider what arrangements you have in place for the Christmas closure period. Who has access to your business? What security measures do you have in place to ensure your business is safe? Who monitors your alarms? Who is your on call person? We encourage our members to be prepared for the normal cycles in business and this is one of these times we sometimes overlook. Review your systems and processes and if you need assistance contact us at the Chamber as we have several well versed members in the security industry that can provide advice and support on securing your business. The Gosford Landing went on public exhibition on 5th October. The Chamber board is most supportive of the project proposal and we have provided coverage on the design concepts and staging in this issue of the Agenda. We encourage members to take the time to review what is proposed for our waterfront and what it can achieve for the betterment of our city. Thank you all again and until next time...
I wish you all continued business success....Rod Dever
